Breedlove Hoops: Rolling It Back

Over the years as I’ve watched the hooping movement rise from the music festivals and underground dance community events and spin it’s way into a more mainstream world, I’ve always been aware of the fact that there was an “us” and a “them”. For those who started hooping more recently the…
Printing Attempt # 6 or so?
On the advice of the members at ccckc we tried upping our print bed temp to 120°C. All we have is this black stuff, 3mm ABS plastic. It will not stick to our glass no matter what we try.
I have ordered white PLA, but it is driving me crazy cuz I just want to make something now! :3
Instant Gratification is kinda the point here.
I might upload some pictures later so you can see the machine.

Our booth of hula hoops, crochet blankets and sunflower scrubbers, headbands and hairbows.
This is kinda embarassing.
I’m demonstrating hula hoops to shoppers and a group of Mennonite women came over. When I turned on my LED hoop, they all left.

MakerBot’s Project Shellter, a community initiative to create environmentally friendly 3D printed shells for pet hermit crabs, has succeeded in convincing three hermit crabs to adopt printed shells.
KC Hackerspace field trip
I got to meet some awesome people making awesome things tonight. My little mind was blown away when I walked into the room and saw six 3D printers all running at the same time. My boyfriend and I chit chatted with everyone and asked a bunch of questions, got a tour of the minecraft server, and sampled the bacon dogs. I really can’t wait until there’s a hackerspace in Topeka. I see Dave and I getting our RepRap printing within the week, and then we can replicate it and get other people started, too. Yay, technology!
Visit the Kansas Garden Show
I’ll have some hula hoops for sale by the front door of the Expo Center in Topeka. Come say hi and get ready for spring! Tomorrow through Sunday.
Thank you! <3 Oh man, I love your fabric hoops on your Etsy! Super cute. Yeah, I'm loving the decoupage method; I'll definitely have to play around with it some more.
Thanks! My fabric hoops are made with spray-on adhesive these days, but I highly recommend modge podge for hoop decorating. As you said, you really can decoupage anything :}
I like Hoopnotica but I'm just a tactile learner so it's hard for me to grasp things. They just kind of go through the move once or twice and move on. I feel like for beginners it's not very helpful even though it's sort of aimed at them. It's well put...
Interesting. Hoopnotica is for sure the most well-known of the instructional materials, but I’ve never heard a review, so thanks for your insight.
I know I would love to be a licensed Hoopnotica hoop instructor, but their training program strikes me as too expensive and difficult to keep renewing. I have seen some other sites that offer virtual classes and endorsements that are much less expensive. Maybe someday every town will have a local hoopdance studio for people to learn in :)

I just found out I'm going to be in a Carnival this spring
One step closer to my dream of running away with the circus.
It’s for Final Fridays in Lawrence. I’ll be hooping/spinning. My friend is a ventriloquist. If I had my way we would do a sideshow theme, but I think it’s supposed to be kid-friendly. Need costume and choreography at some point of course :3
